Farm to Table Dining Event at Providence Point Features Local Foods, Entertainment

As we bid winter “Adieu”, the Providence Point Dining team is “Savoring the Season” with a farm-to-table special dinner event on March 10th at 6 p.m. featuring fresh food from local farms including Penn’s Farm Alliance, a farmer-owned cooperative in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Featuring local foods is nothing new at Providence Point. According to Cheryl Torre Rastetter, Cura Hospitality general manager of dining services, preparing menu items with homegrown products is a Cura Hospitality gold standard.

Our success is made possible by a commitment that Eat’n Park Hospitality Group made over 14 years ago to enhance the freshness of its food by creating an innovative local purchasing program it calls FarmSource™, recognized in the industry as one of the top local purchasing programs.

Savor an amazing dinner of local and fresh food designed and prepared by Cura Executive Chef Scott Beattie, who is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh.

• Appetizer: Pan- Seared Royal Trumpet Mushroom with a Morel Demi Glace and Focaccia Bread Stick
• Salad: Mustard Greens, Frisee and Spring Mix Salad with Roasted Cauliflower, Radish and Red Peppers Tossed in a Citrus Oil
• Entrée: Elk Tenderloin Medallions with Smoked Cracked Pepper Sauce paired with Rosemary Roasted Sunchokes and Snap Peas
• Dessert: Cherimoya and Lime Cheesecake

Entertainment for Savor the Seasons will be provided by Strolling Violinist Steven Vance. A Pittsburgh native, Vance has honed his skills by perfecting many styles of music to build a repertoire of over 1,000 tunes including everything from Mozart to "Phantom of The Opera" to The Charlie Daniels Band. Out of that wealth of experience he has developed a unique strolling performance. Even former First Lady Barbara Bush has had the opportunity to experience his unique talent when Vance performed "Yellow Rose of Texas" and "String of Pearls" for her!
