Grow Your Own
Cura "grows their own" food at many senior living communities and healthcare facilities. Guests enjoy fresh produce, vegetables and herbs that are grown in containers, greenhouses or farms located right on our clients' property. Onsite gardening provides a fresh and consistent food source to dining and helps our clients become more sustainable.
At The Bridges of Bent Creek, an assisted living community in Mechanicsburg, PA, residets rolled up their sleeves and got down in the dirt during the third annual Bridges at Bent Creek grower’s day held in May. The event kicked-off the growing season where residents planted a variety of herbs and vegetables in the community’s six raised beds. This year’s harvest consisted of a variety of fresh herbs and vegetables including tomatoes, green peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers, Italian green beans, basil, parsley, oregano, thyme and chives.
