Phoebe Terrace Residents Celebrate Fishing Season with Gone Fishing Culinary Event; Learn How to Select/Prepare Seafood; Shrimp Peeling Contest
WHAT: Residents of Phoebe Terrace Retirement Community are celebrating fishing season during their first “Gone Fishing” culinary event. Cura Hospitality chefs and representatives from Adelphia Seafood will educate residents on seafood variety, how to select quality and fresh seafood and cooking techniques to prepare a delicious and healthy meal in their apartments.
“As the food service provider at Phoebe, our goal is to create opportunities for residents that are more conducive to socialization. Activities such as “Gone Fishing” and a recent pizza cooking demonstration where our residents tossed pizza dough and created pizzas with unique toppings for the rest of the community, are activities that all residents enjoy.”
The following residents will also compete in a shrimp peeling contest: Helen Leming, Adele Szymanski, Leah Verri and Margaret Teitsworth.
An all you can eat clam bake and frosty mugs of beer will follow the event to celebrate the opening of trout season, a fish that is also featured on Phoebe’s menu.
Adelphia Seafood is a leading regional fish & seafood wholesaler out of Reading, Pa.
