WINDBER MEDICAL CENTER RECEIVES ASTER AWARD
Windber, PA, May 25, 2007 – Windber Medical Center CEO Nick Jacobs, is proud to announce that Windber Medical Center’s trans-fat free marketing campaign received a bronze from The Aster Awards, a national medical marketing awards program which provides national-level recognition annually to healthcare organizations and advertising agencies that strive for excellence in medical marketing.
With the help of its dining services partner, Cura Hospitality of Allentown, PA, Windber was able to create a successful marketing campaign that continues to promote the fresh and delicious trans-fat free dining options to better meet the needs of hospital patients, guests and staff.
According to Jacobs, Windber’s trans-fat free marketing campaign featured the hospital’s new trans-fat free patient menu, which was launched in the fall of 2006. The campaign focused on promoting:
- the elimination of artery-clogging trans-fatty acids from foods featured on hospital patient menus;
- the trans-fat free options available to hospital employees and visitors;
- the dangers of trans-fats;
- ways in which patients, families and hospital staff may easily eliminate trans-fats from their diets at home in order to reduce the risk of developing heart disease.
Award recipients will also be honored in a future issue of Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine.
