EAT'N PARK HOSPITALITY GROUP'S JAMIE MOORE RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL ORGANIC INSPECTOR'S LICENSE

PITTSBURGH, PA June 9, 2009– Eat’n Park Hospitality Group is pleased to announce that Jamie Moore, the organization’s director of sourcing and sustainability, received his organic inspector’s certification license through The International Organic Inspectors Association (IOIA), a professional, non-profit association of organic farm, livestock, and processing inspectors that provides comprehensive organic inspector training worldwide.

Moore shares his new expertise with the organization and states that learning more about agricultural issues and what separates organic from conventional foods enhances sourcing and purchasing practices.  “Our goal is to better understand the challenges, concerns and issues of farming; to build upon the relationships we have established with hundreds of local farmers; and, overall, promote the consistency and integrity of foods so we may both benefit in our respective ‘fields’ – serving guests healthy, safe, fresh, high-quality foods,” says Moore, who is the only food service professional of the IOIA.

Eat’n Park Hospitality Group is already a leader in supporting local agriculture through FarmSource, a sustainable sourcing program the organization created to help establish relationships with local farms and producers of food.  Through its membership with the Pennsylvania Association of Sustainable Agriculture, orchards, farms and purveyors are easily identified within a 100-mile radius of client locations.  Through FarmSource, Eat’n Park Hospitality Group clients are able to support and continue growth for local commerce by more than 20%.

Eat’n Park Hospitality Group promotes its sustainable activities to its guests through EcoSteps, an educational tool that communicates the actions the organization takes to protect the environment, support local communities and expand its role as a socially responsible organization.
