2011 Achievement of Excellence Award, American Culinary Federation

Eat’n Park Hospitality Group (of which Cura Hospitality is a member of) is one of 23 food service establishments nationwide that received the American Culinary Federation 2011 Achievement of Excellence Award, which recognizes "food service establishments that exemplify a commitment to excellence."

The American Culinary Federation, Inc. (ACF), a professional, organization for chefs and cooks, was founded in 1929 in New York City by three chefs’ organizations: the Société Culinaire Philanthropique, the Vatel Club and the Chefs de Cuisine Association of America. Since our inception, little has changed in our principal goals. We are an organization based on promoting the professional image of American chefs worldwide through education of culinarians at all levels.


American Business Ethics Award, for Demonstrating Leadership and Ethics Around Sustainability Issues

Eat’n Park Hospitality Group (www.eatnpark.com) is one of the country’s leading ethical companies because of its commitment to team members and local communities, according to the Foundation for Financial Service Professionals (FSP), which sponsors the annual American Business Ethics Award (ABEA) program.

ABEA selected Eat’n Park Hospitality Group as the leading ethical organization in the country in the large company category (more than 2,500 employees).  Previously, the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture had nominated Eat’n Park locally for demonstrating leadership and ethics around sustainability issues.  Eat’n Park Hospitality Group had already been selected as the Pennsylvania ethics award winner earlier this year.

ABEA recognizes companies that exemplify high standards of ethical behavior in their everyday business conduct and/or in response to a specific ethical crises or challenges.  Entries are judged by a distinguished, independent panel who represent the business, academic, public service, and consulting communities.


Food Management Magazine's Best Concept Awards Nationally Recognizes Cura Culture Change Guide

Cura Hospitality was nationally recognized for the creation of the Cura Culture Change Guide by Food Management (FM) Magazine’s Best Concept Awards competition which recognizes and celebrates innovative thinking and practice in onsite foodservice. 

The Cura Culture Change guide is a comprehensive tool that aids administrators to enhance the quality of life for assisted living and skilled care residents by providing the steps and information requirements to transition dining and hospitality services from a medical model to a person-centered care experience that creates a home-like environment, while improving the work satisfaction levels of staff.

The goal of the Best Concepts Awards program is to recognize these innovations and the organizations and teams responsible for them…allowing onsite operators to manage foodservices more successfully, more efficiently and to better meet customer expectations.


People Do Matter Award, in the Areas of Learning and Development

Eat'n Park Hospitality Group (of which Cura Hospitality is a member of) received the 2010 People Do Matter Award

Presented by the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association, the “People Do Matter Awards” recognizes regional employers that are implementing exceptional people practices.

Eat’n Park received their award in the “Learning and Development” category for the Supervisor Certification Program, a leadership experience that has graduated over 200 hourly associates. 

A collaborative effort between operations and training, Eat’n Park’s corporate training team, field and site managers work together to help mentor, coach and evaluate the supervisor’s assignments and progress.   Supervisors participate in over 25 hours of training and are required to pass a certification exam.  Supervisors who have graduated from the program help to support and strengthen our unit management teams, uphold our standards and enhance our guests’ experiences.


Peter Becker Community’s Dining Voted Best of the Best by Montgomery Media Newspapers

The Cura Hospitality dining team at Peter Becker Retirement Community, a continuing care retirement community in Harleysville, Pa, was voted 2010 Best Menu, Best Banquet Hall and Best Sunday Brunch by Montgomery Media Newspapers.

From its modest opening in 1971, Peter Becker has grown to encompass a full-service campus on nearly 100 acres in Franconia Township, Montgomery County. Today, the community serves approximately 400 residents in residential living apartments and cottages and approximately 100 residents in personal care and skilled nursing facilities.

Congratulations to the Cura dining team for this fine accomplishment.  What a difference they are making in the lives of residents, families and other guests.  How rewarding it is for us to see our mission, "enhancing lives around great food", being carried out so well.


Glynwood Harvest Award, for Connecting Communities, Farmers and Food 

Eat’n Park Hospitality Group (of which Cura Hospitality is a member of) was honored with the 2009 Harvest Award.

This award was created by Glynwood, the not-for-profit organization whose mission is to save farming in the North East,  in order to highlight innovative work being done to increase access to fresh, locally-produced food and to recognize leaders across the country that support regional agricultural systems.


Aster Award, Trans-Fat Free Marketing Campaign

Windber Medical Center in Windber, Pa, received the 2007 Aster Award for its trans-fat free marketing campaign.  The Aster Awards is a national medical marketing awards program which provides national-level recognition annually to healthcare organizations and advertising agencies that strive for excellence in medical marketing.

With the help of its dining partner, Cura Hospitality, Windber was able to create a successful marketing campaign that continues to promote the fresh and delicious trans-fat free dining options to better meet the needs of hospital patients, guests and staff.
